Avtar Singh, a student of Spring Dale Senior School, competed with 160 participants from various schools to bag a gold medal in the Inter Battalion Firing Competition held at Army Firing Range, Ram Tirath. He was one of the eight NCC Cadets of the 11th Punjab Battalion from Spring Dale Senior School, who participated in the competition. The 11th Punjab Battalion won the competition.
Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that shooting was the latest passion among the students in sports. “The school provides state-of-the-art sports infrastructure to the students to help them realize their sporting talent and polish their skills to give them an edge over their competitors,” he said.
Congratulating the winners, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Educational Society and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Director and Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the school has air-conditioned shooting premises with international standard facilities and coaching techniques, for this purpose. “We are committed to the cause of providing the best academic and sports infrastructure to our students,” they said.
