Spring Daleans rule the roost in Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh games
Pranav Vyom, a budding roller skater from Spring Dale Senior School, made his school proud again by winning a gold medal and one silver medal besides a cash award of Rs 40,000 in Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh games, in which he competed with at least 1800 skaters from 22 districts.
The Roller Skating competitions were held at Sangrur, while the gymnastics segment of the same event was held at Patiala. In the roller skating event, Aksh Gurnain Singh, another budding roller skater from Spring Dale Senior School, won a silver medal and a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
Meanwhile, in the Patiala leg of the event, Spring Daleans Muskaan Vij and Anikta Sachdeva won a silver medal each, besides a cash prize of Rs 15,000 each. They competed with 40 gymnasts to bag these prizes.
Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that this is the first time that the Punjab government has organized such competitions to explore the hidden talents of roller skaters and gymnasts in the state.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners. “The school is proud of their achievements,” they said.
