SOF to confer Best State Principal Award on Spring Dales’ principal
Acknowledging the hard work put in by the school’s faculty and principal in ensuring the noteworthy performances of Spring Daleans at the national and international level in the Olympiads conducted by it, the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has decided to confer ‘The Best State Principal-Punjab and Chandigarh Zone’ Award on Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School.
The award is being conferred on Mr Sharma for the year 2015-16 and carries a citation and a cheque for Rs.10,000. Though announced in April, the award would be given in July this year. Intimating Mr Sharma about the award through a communiqué, Mr Mahabir Executive Director, SOF, said that the students of the school had performed exceptionally well in the SOF Olympiad exams conducted during the academic year 2015-16 under Mr Sharma’s tutelage.
He added that the award was significant as in 2015-16 more than 34000 schools from over 1400 cities spread across 22 countries registered and millions of students appeared in the World’s Biggest Olympiad exams conducted by SOF, of which Spring Dale Senior School was also a part.
Congratulating Mr Sharma, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Educational Society, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Director and Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the school was proud of the achievements of its faculty and students in the Olympiads and other competitive exams.
“The award is definitely well-deserved and speaks volumes about the expertise of our faculty members and the hard work put in by them towards the cause of imparting quality education to our students,” they said. They added that the school saw the initiation of the Olympiads in 2000. “Sixteen years down the line, the school is still handling them and very proficiently,” they added.
