Shuttlers and karatekas from Spring Dales win laurels in Badminton Youth Rural Games and Association Punjab Tournament and Seventh ISKA Punjab State Karate-Do Championship
Continuing with the school’s winning spree in various sports competitions, budding shuttlers and karatekas from Spring Dale Senior School won laurels in Badminton Youth Rural Games and Association Punjab Tournament held at Phagwara, besides bagging key positions in Seventh ISKA Punjab State Karate-Do Championship held in Amritsar.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that four teams of the school participated in the event in the senior, junior and sub-junior (two teams) categories. “Each team competed with at least eight different teams in their respective categories to bag medals,” he said.
He added that the senior team of the school bagged the gold medal in the team event, while the junior team of the school also won a gold medal in these events. “Two teams participated in the sub-junior category in which one team comprising Garv Preet and Mehul Singh won a gold medal, while the other team clinched a silver medal,” said Mr Sharma.
Meanwhile, an upcoming karateka from Spring Dales Uday Mehtab Singh bagged the first position in the 13-year-old Boys’ category in ISKA Punjab State Karate-Do Championship.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners. They said that sports are an integral part of the schools Educational and Cultural vision and the school is committed to promote the same as an instrument for the Youth empowerment.
