Spring Daleans compete with students from all over the state to win abacus competition
Displaying amazing brain skills, a team of budding mathematical geniuses from Spring Dale Senior School competed with teams from various schools from all over the state to bag key positions in the State Level Abacus competition held at Amritsar.
At least 20 students from the school competed with 615 students from different schools from all over Punjab to bag key positions in this competition. Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that Arihan and Agampreet, two students of class III of the school, bagged the first position in this competition.
Meanwhile, Jivesh Maini, of class II, and Kritavi Gupta, class IV, Bisman Sabharwal, Mehrab Singh Chahal, Nehil Singh and Parmeet Kaur, all Spring Daleans, stood second in this competition. “All other participants too have notched key positions and the school is proud of their achievement,” he said.
He added that the school has teamed up with Nex-Gen Kids’ academy, a branch of Ideal Play Abacus (IPA) India Private Ltd, to run an abacus training programme for its students. “The school aims at enhancing the mathematical abilities of its students by making arrangements for imparting excellent abacus training to them,” he said.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Educational Society, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Director and Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the students and wished them all the best for their future endeavours.
