Spring Daleans win laurels in chess
Adding to the school’s reserves of trophies, budding chess masters from Spring Dale Senior School bagged a load of medals in the Open District Chess Championship held in Amritsar. The event saw the participation of teams from various schools in and around the city. Spring Daleans bagged key positions in the same.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that Anushka Aggarwal, a student of Class III, bagged a gold medal in the under-11 category in the event. “She competed with 12 girls from different schools in her category to bag the gold medal,” he said.
He added that Shreya Vij, of Class VII, bagged a silver medal in the under-15 category, while Prajwal Gupta, of class X, won a silver medal in the under-25 category in the event. Akaisha Bhalla, of class I, won a silver medal in the under-7 category.
Meanwhile, Ekleen, of class VII, bagged a Bronze medal in the under-15 category, while Bhavesh Mahajan, of class III, bagged a bronze medal in the under-11 category. Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners.
