Spring Dalean helps his team win the first position, bags second rank in individual category
 
Augmenting the school’s list of achievements in yoga and sports, Ankit Sharma, a budding sports person from Spring Dale Senior School, did the institution proud, by making significant contributions that enabled his team to win the first position in the 10-11 years age group in the Open Punjab Yoga Competition held at Sri Guru Harkrishan International School, Amritsar. Ankit himself bagged the second position in this event.
 
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that the event was organized by Punjab Yog and Sports Confederation, which is affiliated to Indian Yog and Sports Confederation. “Ankit Sharma and his team competed with several other teams to bag the first position in the 10-11 years age group in the team events and the second place in the same age group in the individual category,” he said.
 
Congratulating Ankit Sharma, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the school lay due emphasis on the teaching and practice of Yoga considering its various benefits to the human health.
 
Stating that the school was a part of the international observation of the International Yoga Day (June 21), they maintained that yoga was an important part of the sports events and personality development camps organized regularly in the school.
 
They added that the staff and students were regularly sensitized about the benefits of performing yoga through various sessions and camps dedicated to health and wellness. “The school also has a health and wellness club that regularly organizes different activities to sensitize the staff and students about the importance of yoga in our daily lives,” they said.
