Budding lens men and women from Spring Dales capture various hues of life
Exhibition, competition, quiz held to mark the celebration
Armed with cameras, the budding lens men and women from Spring Dale Senior School joined the international community of professional and amateur photographers in celebrating various hues of life by capturing the same through their lenses on the occasion of World Photography Day celebration organized by the Photography Club of the school.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that days ahead of the observance the students were allotted various photography class work and homework assignments in which they were required to capture captivating scenes from nature and daily life.
“The best pictures clicked by the students were selected and displayed in an exhibition organized on this occasion, while three best photographers were selected and awarded from among the students on the basis of the merit of their work,” he said. A quiz competition based on the significance of the World Photography Day, history of photography and the technical aspects thereof was also held to mark the day.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the celebration aimed at apprising students of the importance of photography in their daily lives besides honing the skills of students, who aspire to take it up either as a hobby or as a profession.
