Spring Daleans reap a rich harvest of gold and silver medals in World Scholar’s Cup
Sixteen students selected for the Global Round to be held at Yale University
Scholars from Spring Dale Senior School continued with their exploits in the field of co-curriculars and added more medals to the school’s vast repository of laurels by bagging top honours in the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC), an American competition that entails the participation of students from around the world.
The event was held at Learning Paths School, Chandigarh. Sixteen students of the 45-member team from Spring Dales have been selected for the Global Round of WSC to be held at Yale University, on the basis of their exemplary performance in this event.
The 45-member team from Spring Dales competed with at least 350 students from schools from all over the world to bag as many as 176 medals and six trophies in team debate, collaborative writing, and quiz competitions titled Scholar’s Bowl and Scholar’s Challenge.
Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that apart from the participation of students from all over the world, what added thrill to the event was the fact that segments involving debate, writing and quiz called for high level of argumentation and research, which are some of the strengths of Spring Daleans.
“The institution is proud of their achievements, which reflect the high quality of instruction imparted to the students in all spheres,” he said.
Ecstatic at the outstanding achievements of Spring Daleans in global events, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that it was the dream of the founders of the school to enable their students to carve a niche for themselves at the global level.
“Thanks to the efforts of the Spring Dales family that dream is materializing and we are happy to see it unfold in front of our own eyes,” they said. “We pray for the success of these young achievers in all their future endeavours and reiterate our commitment to constantly upgrade our infrastructure to provide the best of facilities to hone our students’ skills,” they added.
