Grandparents, parents join class III students in learning lessons in discipline and team spirit
With a view to encouraging their wards to indulge more in outdoor activities, parents and grandparents of students of class III of Spring Dale Senior School joined them on the sports grounds of Spring Dale Senior School in learning lessons in discipline and team spirit during a Personality Development Camp (PDC) organized for the students.
Inayat Hanspal, of class III, of Spring Dales, was adjudged the Best Athlete Girl, while the award for the Best Athlete Boy was jointly conferred upon Sharham Chopra and Jayin Paush Senapati, both students of class III, of Spring Dales, for their outstanding performance in the two-day camp.
The event, which saw active participation of the students in events including Obstacle Race, Straight Race, Spoon and Lemon Race, Relay Race, and Tug of War, witnessed their parents participate in Needle and thread Race, Three legged Race and Musical Chairs, while their grandparents took part in Balancing the Ball activity organized for them.
Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that it was that time of the year when three generations--students, their parents and grandparents-associated with the school, bring out their sporting gear-sports shoes and track suits-out of the closet to have some fun together on the sports ground. “It was heartening to see three generations—students, their parents and grandparents participate zestfully in this event,” he said.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the camp infused a spirit of discipline and coordination among the students, which are essential attributes for achieving success in life.
