CBSE awards Certificates of Merit to 101 Spring Daleans
 
In yet another manifestation of the spirit of ‘Excelsior’ and the excellent teaching imparted at Spring Dale Senior School, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has awarded Certificates of Merit to 101 students of the school for their outstanding performances in the class X and XII exams for the session 2015-16.
 
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that at least 82 students of class X and 19 students of class XII were awarded Certificates of Merit for their exceptional performances in the class X and XII exams.
 
He added that the 19 students of class XII, who have been awarded these certificates, include Kashish Mahajan (Economics), Mahir Bajaj (Business Studies and Economics), Satchit Gupta (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Akashdeep Singh Gill (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Janvi Khaneja (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Anoushka Gupta (Physics), Mehak Devgan (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Arpan (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Jaanvi Kataria (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Dhruv Aggarwal (Economics), Abhimanyu Mahajan (Music – Hindustani Vocal).
 
Others include, Chahat Nanda (Economics, Music – Hindustani Vocal), Hargun Singh Grover (Mathematics, Physics and Informative Practices), Mishel Gupta (Music – Hindustani Vocal), V Sai Sri Anand Raju (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Rajbir Singh (Economics), Dhritika Arora (Music – Hindustani Vocal), Prerna Singh (Economics), and Ashna Kapoor (Music – Hindustani Vocal), all Plus Two graduates of the school.
 
Mr Sharma maintained that as far as the criteria for the award of the Certificate of Merit is concerned at least 500 candidates should have passed in a particular subject.  “The candidate should have passed the examination as per the pass criteria of the Board and as far as ties are concerned, if one aspirant gets a merit certificate, all others obtaining a similar score too are awarded a Certificate of Merit,” he said.
 
Congratulating the achievers, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that these students had passed the examination as per the pass criteria of the CBSE. “The school is proud of their achievements, which are indeed very noteworthy and encouraging,” they said.
