Spring Dalean proves his mettle in Khelo India national level sports competition
Only Punjabi to bag a medal, cash prize in the event
Krishna Arjun Bhatia, a budding gymnast from Spring Dales, has done the school proud by bagging the honour of being the only Punjabi player to bag a medal and a cash prize in the Khelo India national level sports competition, organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, at Hyderabad.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that Krishna Arjun Bhatia competed with 200 gymnasts from teams from different states of India including Punjab, and became the only Punjabi in the tournament to bag a medal, a bronze, and cash prize amounting to Rs 20,000 for his outstanding performance in the under-14 category in gymnastics, in the event.
“Teams from all over Punjab, and the rest of India too, participated in various games in this competition, but Krishna Arjun Bhatia was the only Punjabi to bag a medal and a cash prize,” he said. He added that the school is proud of his achievement.
Congratulating Krishna Arjun Bhatia on his feat, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, wished him luck in all his future sports and academic endeavours.
