SDES witnesses change of guard, youth leadership to the fore
Sahiljit Singh Sandhu appointed President
AMRITSAR, MARCH 20:
At the heart of various global academic, sports, social and cultural initiatives, Spring Dale Educational Society (SDES), that manages Spring Dale Senior School, Fatehgarh Churian Road, Amritsar, has undergone a significant change of guard.
Hitherto headed by Mr. Surinder Singh Sandhu, a seasoned academician, also the founding President of the Society, the baton of responsibility has been handed over to the young, dynamic and innovative Mr. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu. Mr. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu was appointed as President of SDES at an annual meeting of the Board of Governors.
Absolutely euphoric at the opportunity entrusted to him, Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu said, “The change was obligatory in keeping with the law of nature, exigencies of time and the need for infusing change into the organization through innovation, youth leadership and fresh ideas. I would like to thank my mentor and guide, Mr S.S. Sandhu for entrusting me with this huge responsibility”. He reiterated his commitment to work wholeheartedly and diligently towards the implementation of novel and innovative ideas to take SDES to further heights.
Congratulating Mr Sandhu for the new role entrusted to him, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said if there is one word that truly defines Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, a promising global youth leader, it is dynamism.
“He is one person that all young Spring Daleans regard as their true inspiration. Born into a family of academicians, he was brought up in an environment where discussions on changing educational environment, new pedagogies abounded,” they said. They added that the citizens of Amritsar and the global community now looked up to him for effective realization of academic, social and cultural aims.
Being an alumnus of Spring Dale Senior School himself, Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida, USA. He has attended many leadership programs both as a student and as a professional, he attended the Future World Leaders Summit at Washington D.C. and the People to People leadership seminar at Stanford University. He recently participated in ‘School Leadership in the 21st Century’ program at the National Institute of Singapore.
