SOF confers Best Zonal Principal and Best International Teacher Awards on Spring Dales’ Principal and Teacher
Acknowledging the hard work put in by the school’s faculty in ensuring the noteworthy performances of Spring Daleans at the national and international level in the Olympiads conducted by it, the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has decided to confer ‘The Best Zonal Principal-Punjab and Chandigarh Zone’ Award on Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dales, and ‘The Best International Teacher-International Sports Knowledge Olympiad’ on Ms Sukhraj Sandhu, Facilitator, Senior School and Competitive Examinations, Spring Dales.
The awards are being conferred on them for the year for 2016-17 and consist of a trophy, a citation and cheques amounting to Rs 10,000 each. In a missive to Mr Sharma, Mahabir Singh, Founder and Executive Director, SOF, said that both the awards and the performance of the Spring Daleans were quite significant as in 2016-17, more than 42800 schools from over 1400 cities in 25 countries of the world registered for and millions of students appeared in the World’s Biggest Olympiad exams conducted by SOF.
Congratulating Mr Sharma and Ms Sandhu, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Educational Society, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, President, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the school was proud of the achievements of its faculty and students in the Olympiads and other competitive exams.
“The awards are definitely well-deserved and speak volumes about the expertise of our faculty members and the hard work put in by them towards the cause of imparting quality education to our students,” they said. They added that the school saw the initiation of the Olympiads in 2000, under the tutelage of Ms Sandhu. “Eighteen years down the line, the school is still handling them and very proficiently,” they added.
