Spring Daleans celebrate alumni’s success in UPSC results
The resounding success of its alumni Mr Anmol Sher Singh Bedi in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams, the results of which were declared on May 31, has put the national spotlight back again on the excellent education imparted at Spring Dale Senior School, besides giving his alma mater yet another reason the celebrate.
Mr Bedi and his parents Dr Sarabjit Singh Bedi, an academician associated with NIT, Jalandhar, and Mrs Jaspal Bedi, a social worker, have thanked Spring Dales for its significant role in equipping him with an education of very high standards, which has enabled him to attain an All India Rank 2 in UPSC and the first rank among the males appearing in the UPSC exam in 2017, in the first attempt.
An elated Mr Anmol Sher Singh Bedi has also promised to visit his alma mater soon to thank his teachers as well as to speak to his younger counterparts and inspire them to aim high in life, besides sharing tips about clearing the UPSC exam, with them.
Happy smiles could be seen on the faces of the proud members of the school management, and teachers, who had taught Mr Bedi at some point in time during his stint at Spring Dales as a student when the news of his success in the UPSC results was announced in the school. Exchange of excited murmurs among the students that could be heard in every nook and cranny of the school, added to the celebratory atmosphere of the school triggered by the recently declared CBSE Plus Two results.  
Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that all through his years as a student in Spring Dale Senior School, Mr Anmol Sher Singh Bedi enjoyed a high achieving academic and co-curricular record.
“He was a very active member of the school’s Student Council, an avid contestant in the Bournvita Quiz Contest, and was among the team that represented the school in various National Olympiads. He was a member of the school team of 12 students, which participated in the Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre, Houston, USA, and was the only team from India to qualify for the International Space Settlement Design Competition,” he said.
"He secured high distinctions in International Assessments for Indian Schools conducted by University of New South Wales Australia. He was a member of the School Quiz team . His team Won the Bournvita Quiz at the State level," Mr Sharma added.
Congratulating Mr Bedi on his feat, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, President, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that the institution was elated at his remarkable success in the UPSC exams. “Mr Bedi’s success has put the national spotlight on the high quality education being imparted at Spring Dales. This certainly means a lot to us. We are proud of his success and pray for the success of all his future endeavours,”
they said.
