Win laurels at the national level
Budding shuttlers from Spring Dale Senior School have been selected for an international level Badminton tournament to be held at Nepal. The selection has been made on the basis of their superb performance during the Second National Youth Rural Games and Sports Tournament 2015-16 held at Sirsa, Haryana.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that the under-14 (boys), under-17 (girls) and under-17 (boys) teams of the school won a gold medal in the team events. “They competed with badminton players from 15 states in this tournament,” he said.
He added that the school was proud of the selection of its students for the international level tournament. “Competing with badminton players from 15 states was no cakewalk for our budding shuttlers. All the same, they proved their mettle in the sport and got selected for the international level tournament to be held in Nepal soon. This undoubtedly is a proof of the excellent sports coaching imparted by the coaches in the school,” Mr Sharma said.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners. “We are committed to the cause of providing our budding sports persons with the best of facilities and training to groom them as adept sportspersons,” they said.
