Spring Dalean bags gold in PSFI Eighth National Pencak Silat Championship
Uday Mehtab Singh, a student of Spring Dale Senior School, has done the institution proud by bagging a gold medal in the PSFI Eighth National Pencak Silat Championship held at CSI Hall, Kanya Kumari, Tamil Nadu. He participated in the Sub Junior Boys Category.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that Penchak Silat (pronounced Penchak Silat) is a general term for the martial arts that originated in the Indonesian archipelago. “Martial artists from 17 states in India participated in the event. Uday Mehtab Singh won a gold medal in the Sub Junior Boys Category in the event,” he said.
Congratulating Uday, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that besides equipping its students with the best and the latest in the field of education the school made sure that its students were well acquainted with the most recent forms of martial arts for their own self defense and empowerment as well as the service of the masses. “We are constantly committed to upgrading our academic and sports infrastructure,” they said.
