Spring Daleans reap a harvest of medals in Open District Swimming Tournament

Budding swimmers from Spring Dale Senior School once again won laurels in the Open District Swimming Tournament held in Amritsar. The Spring Daleans competed with at least 250 swimmers from other schools in the district to win medals in different categories.

Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that the swimmers from the school won 10 gold medals, six silver medals and two bronze medals in the event.
 
“Ananya Chawla, a student of our school bagged three gold medals in 100 metres free style, 50 metres back stroke and relay race, respectively, in the under-16 (girls) category, while Chanmeet Kaur, another Spring Dalean, won two gold medals in 50 metres free style and 50 metres butterfly, respectively, events in this category,” he said.
 
He added that Paramjit Kaur won one gold medal and one silver medal in relay team and 100 metres free style, respectively, in under-16 (girls) category. “Prabhleen Kaur, a Spring Dalean bagged three gold medals in 100 metres free style, 50 metres freestyle and relay race, respectively, in the under-13 (girls) category, while Arpan Heir, another swimmer from Spring Dales, won one gold and one silver medal in relay team and 100 metres freestyle, respectively,  in this category,” Mr Sharma said.

In the under-11 (girls) category, Natalya Mahendru, of Spring Dales, bagged a silver medal in 50 metres butterfly, while another Spring Dalean Samaira Mahajan, won two bronze medals in 50 metres butterfly and freestyle events. Mr Sharma said that in the under-12 (boys) category Jatin Arora, of Spring Dales, bagged two silver medals in 50 metres and 100 metres freestyle events, while Saksham Mahendru, also of Spring Dales, won a silver medal in 50 metres breast stroke.

Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners and said that the school was proud of their achievements.
