Spring Daleans bag top positions in Open District Badminton Championship
In a development that highlights the excellent sports coaching imparted at Spring Dale Senior School, the budding shuttlers from the school bagged laurels in the Open District Badminton Championship held in Amritsar, which also saw participation of teams from other schools in the district.
Adyan Kakkar, of Spring Dale Senior School, bagged the first prize in doubles and singles events in the under-10 (boys) category, while Mehuldeep Singh Matta, also of Spring Dale Senior School, bagged second prize in doubles event in this category.
In the under-13 (boys) category, Garvpreet Singh Matta, a Spring Dalean, bagged the first prize in the doubles and singles events, while Garv Chawla, also from Spring Dales, bagged the first prize in doubles and the second prize in singles event. Adyan Kakkar won the second prize in doubles event in this category.
Rishika Seth, another budding shuttler from Spring Dales, won the second prize in the doubles event in the under-13 (girls) category. In the under-15 (boys) category, Aryan Arora, of Spring Dales bagged the second prize in the doubles event. Mridula, a budding shuttler from the same school, bagged the second prize in the doubles event in the under-15 (girls) category.
“No doubt that sports achievements such as this one, speak volumes about the sports coaching imparted at our school,” said Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School. Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners. “We are committed to the cause of providing our budding sports persons with the best of facilities and training to groom them as adept sportspersons,” they said.
