Spring Daleans win laurels in Chess and Tennis in 61st Punjab School State Championship
Maintaining their lead in Chess and Tennis, grandmasters and tennis players from Spring Dale Senior School bagged prime positions in the Chess and Tennis tournaments organized during the 61st Punjab School State Championship held at Sangrur and Amritsar, respectively.
The under-17 boys’ chess team of the school competed with 21 teams to bag the first position in the Chess tournament. “This team comprised Mihir Mehra and Arman Khanna, both students of our school,” said Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School.
He added that under-14 and under-17 girls’ tennis teams of the school, also bagged second positions in their respective categories in this championship. “The under-14 girls’ tennis team comprised budding tennis players from the school including Ekleen and Shreya Vij, who competed with students from 19 teams to bag the second position in the tournament,” Mr Sharma said.
He added that school students Husnal Kaur and Ridhi Arora were members of the school’s under-17 tennis team that competed with tennis players of 26 teams from different schools in the state to bag the second place.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners of Chess and Tennis tournaments.
