Science models of Spring Daleans selected for national-level science exhibition
In yet another proud moment for Spring Dale Senior School, two science models of the school that were put up for display at the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition themed ‘Science and Mathematics for Inclusive Education’ held at Sanskriti KMV School, Jalandhar, have been selected for a soon-to-be-held national-level science exhibition.
While the project titled ‘Do not waste your waste’ prepared by a team of students including Sehajdeep Singh and Harnoorvir Singh and led by guide teacher Kamaljit Kaur, was based on the sub-theme ‘Resource Management’, the other project showcasing the scientific acumen of Spring Daleans was titled ‘Vibrating amphibious colony’ was prepared by Aniket Bhatia and Sukriti Anand under guide teacher Amita Shangari and was presented under the sub theme ‘Disaster management’.
Giving details about the exhibition, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that 168 schools from the region participated in it. “A total of 18 exhibits from the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition, including two from Spring Dales, have been selected for the national science exhibition 2015-16,” he said.
Congratulating the school’s budding scientists on this occasion, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said that it was heartening to see students’ interest in science subjects.
“Besides underlining the excellent teaching of science being imparted in the school, the achievement highlights the students’ innate scientific abilities, which are being further honed at Spring Dales through the provision of state-of-the-art infrastructure for the teaching of science subjects and exposure to their practical implementation through regular participation in such events,” they said.
