 Spring Daleans aim for gold in various shooting competitions


Proving their mettle as able marksmen, the students of Spring Dale Senior School won 16 gold, seven silver and four bronze medals in shooting in the District Invitation Competition held at Delhi Public School, besides bagging key positions in CBSE National Shooting Championship held at Ballabhgarh and 61st Punjab State Inter-school Shooting Competition held at Badal.
 
Spring Daleans Kavya Jain, Shivpreet Pannu, Dhanush Bhalla and Shehbaaz Singh bagged two gold medals each in the District Invitation Competition. Meanwhile, Saranya Khanna bagged one gold and one bronze medal, Penaz Heir won a gold and a silver medal, Mannat Kaur notched a gold and a silver medal in this event.
 
Risahnoor Kaur won one gold and one bronze medal, Mohammed Owais Farooqui won one gold and one bronze medal, Dhananjay Dhammi a gold and a silver medal, Sumant Khanna one gold and one bronze medal and Ashmitt Singh a gold and a silver medal in the competition. Shubhkaran Singh, Swashmit Singh and Tushar Dhingra bagged a silver medal each.
 
“Our shooters competed with 70 students from other schools in this event,” said Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School. The Girls’ Team of the school comprising Kavya Jain, Saranya Khanna and Penaz Heir emerged as winners in the CBSE National Shooting Championship held at Ballabhgarh after competing with 700 participants.
 
Meanwhile, the Boys’ Team of the school including Shehnazdeep Singh, Nabarun Singh, and Harsuhail Singh competed with contestants from at least 18 states to bag the Runners-up position in the 61st Punjab State Inter-school Shooting Competition held at Badal. Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners.
