Spring Daleans make it to NDA, TES

In a development that endorses the quality education imparted at Spring Dale Senior School, two alumni of the school Vasu Juneja and Karan Deep Singh have made it to the defence services after clearing National Defence Academy (NDA) and Technical Engineering Scheme (TES) entrance exams, respectively.
Giving details, Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that while Vasu Juneja has made it to NDA, Karan Deep Singh has been selected for TES. “Vasu Juneja cleared both NDA and TES securing 36th rank, out of a total of 328, in NDA and 24th rank, out of a total of 360, in TES,” he said.
However, he added that Vasu chose NDA, as he, being a disciplined student, wanted to join the defence services right from his childhood and found it a better option to serve his motherland as a soldier.
Talking about Karandeep Singh, Mr Sharma said that he secured 25th rank, out of a total of 360, in TES. “Around 35,000 students appeared in the interview, out of which 172 made it to the merit list, while there was a requirement for only 90, Karan being one of them,” he said.
He maintained that Karan’s father is an officer with the Punjab Police, and the lad always wanted to join the defence services. “He is a sharpshooter, who has participated in state and national-level competitions and won gold and silver medals in them,” Mr Sharma said.
According to Mr Sharma, Karan’s stint in the NDA would include a year-long training in Gaya and three-year B-Tech degree course, where after he would be commissioned as a lieutenant.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated Vasu Juneja and Karan Deep Singh for making it to NDA an TES.
“The school is proud of the achievements of both its former students and prays for their success in the future,” they said.
