Students, parents and grandparents take lessons in team spirit
Gurman Singh and Ashika Kharka, of class IV of Spring Dale Senior School were adjudged the best athlete boy and girl, respectively, during the two-day adventure camp organized in the School premises. The camp also saw the participation of parents and grandparents of these students in various events.
The activities included yoga and PT exercises, snake race, dog and the bone, tug of war, snake race, relay race, balancing the ball, juice race, straight run (70 meters), sack race and musical chairs, three-legged race, needle and thread race for parents and candle race for grandparents.
Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that students, their parents and grandparents had fun in the two-day camp as they simultaneously participated in various events that enabled them to learn lessons in team spirit and coordination. He added that such camps are regularly organized with a view to making learning an exciting proposition for them.
Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Mr Sahljit Singh Sandhu, Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said the camp infused a spirit of discipline and coordination among the students, which are essential attributes for achieving success in life. “It also helped the students beat the monotony induced by bookish studies,” they said.
